As most of you are aware, we have decided to have a destination wedding/reception in Montego Bay, Jamaica at the Sandals Resort on Friday, February 27, 2009. Lodging…
The wedding/reception will be at the Montego Bay Resort, in which we will be staying. We would prefer that everyone stay at either Sandals Resort to the left or to the right of us. These resorts are about a 10 minute walk to the Montego Bay Resort. We’ve been checking out prices at both The Sandals Inn and The Royal Caribbean, and found that The Sandals Inn is the cheapest at $281-289/couple/night whereas The Royal Caribbean rooms start out at $400+/couple/night. To make reservations, feel free to contact Sandals Resort at 1-888-SANDALS or by logging onto www.sandals.com. Just an FYI, they do require a $400 deposit/couple to make the reservation. This money will be applied to your room reservation…and rooms must be paid in full 45 days prior of arrival. (These resorts are All-Inclusive meaning that all your food and drinks as well as many other amenities are included!!) Once you’re a guest at one of the Sandals, you are able to jump from Resort to Resort, which is neat, since there is 8-10 resorts on the island of Jamaica.
Airfare…
Sandals does offer airfare to be included with your room reservation, however, we’ve found that it is much cheaper to make your own reservations. We frequently use www.kayak.com, which is a search engine that checks hundreds of airline websites for the best price. Lately, the average ticket price from Detroit to Montego Bay, Jamaica is around $400 a piece.

We will be arriving at the resort on Wed, Feb 25, with the wedding on Friday, Feb 27, then taking a few days to honeymoon before flying back to Michigan on Wed, March 4 to have a reception at the Alma Elks on Saturday, March 7. Details are yet to come regarding the MI reception.
We realize that this trip is asking a lot out of our guests, so we completely understand if you are unable to attend!!
